MR. FREEZE: Reverse Blast Launches with Street Concert by Vanilla Ice

Vanilla Ice welcomes the first riders with a free Street Concert

We can all agree on one thing. The only appropriate way to introduce MR. FREEZE: Reverse Blast into Six Flags Over Texas is with an appearance by someone who’s truly cool as ice.

Saturday, May 12 the man himself, Vanilla Ice, performs in the park to help christen Six Flags Over Texas’ coolest coaster. Join us at 12:30 p.m. in the Gotham City Courtyard to take part in this free, one time street concert. All you need to get into the show is a valid daily park ticket or your 2012 Season Pass. The Grammy nominated star behind the iconic “Ice, Ice Baby” will be performing his hits both old and new for park guests and welcoming the first riders to MR. FREEZE: Reverse Blast.

But there’s more. Season Pass Holders will get an extra sneak peek with an Exclusive Ride Time on the new attraction on Friday, May 11 from 2-10 p.m. before it officially opens to the public! The new reverse launch begins with an upward vertical climb into the sky staring face forward to the ground. Travel backwards though a 190 foot tunnel, into a 180 degree inversion before climbing more than 200 feet where you’ll find yourself suspended, dangling in the air. Then dive straight down back to earth face-down!

This exclusive Vanilla Ice performance is free and open to all park guests but arrive early for the best viewing spot. And then get ready to experience MR. FREEZE: Reverse Blast for yourself! The ride opens to the general public on Saturday, May 12 at 2 p.m.
